We host multidisciplinary, multimedia SDG related content on our SDG Programme page. This includes 17 SDG ‘hubs’, one for each goal, as well as highlights of SDG related events hosted by Springer Nature, blogposts and campaigns. We also feature the Nature Portfolio multi-journal SDG collection to make it easy for researchers and others to find and use the SDG research and information they need.

This was an editorial that showed the results of using technology to map the alignment of the journal ‘Psicologia: Reflexão e Crítica’ (Psychology: Research and Review) with SDGs 3,4 and 5 to show the journal’s contribution to research addressing key SDGs. The exercise was a collaboration between the Content Innovation and publishing teams at Springer Nature.

A dedicated cross-organisation working group that focuses on promoting research and content across the Springer Nature portfolio for specific awareness days relating to SDG 3. In 2024, they promoted 10 awareness days including World Cancer Day, World Refugee Day and World Suicide Prevention Day.

In 2022 we launched a conference series aimed at exploring how research and science can support the SDG 5, its targets and its intersection with other SDGs, including SDG 3 and SDG 10. The second conference took place in September 2024 and focused on gender and health equity. The conferences convene key stakeholders from academia, industry, government and policy sectors, facilitate knowledge exchange and the breaking of silos, and promote cooperation for the goals.

The Sustainable Development in LA&C Summit brings together actors from diverse backgrounds involved with the SDGs. This event provides a platform to disseminate their work internationally and promotes synergies between our regional community aiming at advancing the 2030 agenda. Across the last three editions we were able to cover a multitude of subjects from ecosystem conservation to quality education, health and well being to sustainable cities, from climate change to just energy transition.

Women experience unique health issues such as pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause, which are understudied due to historical bias. From the prenatal period through childhood, the intestinal microbiota sees major compositional changes, and many diseases have been linked to dysbiosis. IAI invites manuscripts on the vaginal microbiome, pathogen-host interaction in the female reproductive tract, or the infant microbiome for its Women’s Health and the Development of Microbiota in Childhood series.

Invertimos en un sistema de cosecha de lluvia, que permite mediante la captación, filtrado, almacenamiento y distribución, usar el agua de lluvia en nuestras áreas comunes. Además de la bomba eléctrica, instalamos una bici bomba, para distribuir el agua por pedaleo, con el fin de hacer actividades recreativas con el personal.
Con ello aprendimos sobre el costo de llevar agua a los hogares, disminuimos el uso del agua que provee la Ciudad de México y contribuimos al bienestar del personal.

 

We invested in a rainwater harvesting system, which allows us to use rainwater in our common areas through collection, filtering, storage and distribution. In addition to the electric pump, we installed a bicycle pump to distribute water by pedaling, in order to do recreational activities with the staff.
With this, we learned about the cost of bringing water to homes, we reduced the use of water provided by Mexico City and we contributed to the well-being of the staff.

“English Studies at NBU” ESNBU publishes research that delves into the challenges faced by individuals with dyslexia, autism, attention deficits and neurodevelopmental disorders. Beginning in September 2022, the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI) convened meetings of members of a Joint Task Force on Outcomes and Impacts (JTFOI). The membership of the JTFOI is drawn from two HESI Action Groups: Ratings, Rankings and Assessment (RRA) and SDG Publishers Compact Fellows (SDGPCF).

HarperCollins proudly supports Pajama Program, a nonprofit that ensures children have access to healthy sleep by providing new pajamas, storybooks and sleep health education. The program helps children facing challenges like low income, housing insecurity, and family instability develop better bedtime habits, which improves school performance, health, and emotional well-being. HarperCollins employees volunteered to teach children in the Bronx about healthy bedtime routines and donated books.
